Superstition
Life in the 21st century requires firm arguments regarding
the interpretation of mystical and similar phenomena through history, which due
to the presence of mass media, written and printed, scientific explanations and
accessibility to these contents. Photographs that are in the form of a series
called "Superstition", visually represent mystical contents, some of
the many superstitions that have been held in the interior of an infinite
space, in fact a phenomenon that appears inevitably in every culture.
By personal experience and intuition, I try to catch a thread
that is bound to a certain belief. Some of the many types of misconceptions,
(based on non-knowledge and human stupidity), belief in supernatural powers,
destiny, and the like. Reconstructing these beliefs and personal interaction, directing
every scene, I bring myself to a conflict with a few of the situations that
need to attract a certain outcome. In this way, I try to figure out my own
doubt about their magical value. The question that arises is certainly: what
does human suggestion accept as a valid fact in its conviction?
I stand behind the belief that things are real only after we
learn to agree with their reality. It is precisely from this standpoint that
the logic of the argued claim arises that a photography with its
characteristics of a realistic representation of reality introduces a new
element into mystical contents by breaking them down and presenting them as the
problem of belief in a somewhat different and magical world secondary to the
culture of a nation.
